Whether it is a carpet, wall surface, or concrete surface, it can achieve stable and reliable adhesion effects. The flexible fabric structure can better fit the complex surface textures, enhancing the actual adhesion strength.
During the construction process, it helps the tape reduce the risk of warping, shifting, and detachment, reducing the risk of rework, and at the same time improving the overall installation efficiency, making the fixation more convenient and controllable.

Support Customization
According to your actual needs of the application, YINDIAN provides flexible customization of substrate structures, thickness, and adhesives on double side duct tape, which can help you best match the actual conditions of use. No matter whether the use is for bonding rough surfaces, temporary bonding, or for applications that have higher demands for strength and environmental resistance, more appropriate solutions can be realized through customization of the product structures.
In practical applications, this will help avoid potential issues such as instability and over-performance caused by mismatches in specifications, thus achieving a more efficient application.
Application of Double Sided Duct Tape
In practice, double-sided duct tape can be used to solve problems like unstable fixation, complicated construction, and inconvenient removal.
Considering the characteristics of the double-sided duct tape, it can provide more efficient and stable solutions for different applications.

In the process of installing the carpet, the conventional fixation approach has the disadvantage of causing problems like movement and cleaning difficulties. The double-sided duct tape has the advantages of stable adhesion and minimal residue during replacement.

The double-sided duct tape can be applied to the ground markings and warning lines in the exhibition and event locations, and the installation can be completed with minimal disturbance and removed with convenience after the event.

During the installation of insulation materials or protective layers, traditional methods are cumbersome. Double-sided duct tape can be used as an aid in fixing insulation cotton, anti-corrosion materials, etc.

During interior decoration and fixation of wires, using screws or clips would act as an obstacle in both the process and the final result. Double-sided duct tape can provide an efficient bonding solution.

During the assembly of electrical components, fixation of small components requires space as well as efficiency. Double-sided duct tape can be used to fix batteries, circuit boards, etc.

During the temporary use of double-sided duct tape, it can serve as a temporary solution in quickly processing water pipes, gas pipes, etc.
Double-sided duct tape has a certain degree of adaptability to different surfaces. Based on the characteristics of the thick adhesive and the fabric, the tape is typically suitable for:
The thick adhesive and the fabric can be generally applicable to bond rough surfaces, including concrete, wood, and walls, as well as fiber surfaces, including carpets and fabrics.
Generally, whether it leaves residue depends on the adhesive, the duration of use, and the surfaces being bonded.
In the process of the “clean removal” of the tape, the adhesive can be optimally selected to ensure that the adhesive tends to stay on the body of the tape, thereby reducing the residue on the surface being bonded.
The difference between these two types of tapes lies in the structure of the base materials used in these types of tapes. In the case of double-sided duct tape, canvas or fabric materials are used as the base materials, which are suitable for the fixation and bonding of carpets on rough surfaces due to the high tensile strength of these materials.
In the case of foam tape, EVA or other foaming materials are used as the base materials, which are suitable for bonding due to the high filling ability of these materials.
Double-sided duct tape is used for temporary fixation and for medium and long term fixation. However, the correct product structure should be selected for the use. If it is for temporary use, the glue system with higher initial adhesion and removable characteristics should be selected.
For the use of long term fixation, higher aging resistance and adhesive stability, such as the combination of the product with high durability adhesives and stable fabric base materials, should be given priority.
In general, the failure of adhesion is usually related to the surface treatment and construction conditions. Before using, it is necessary to ensure the surface is dry, clean, and free of dust, oil stains, or moisture.
It is also recommended that the temperature range for construction should be appropriate (15-30℃), and sufficient pressure should be applied after bonding, which will increase the initial contact area and stability of the bonding.
What is Double Sided Duct Tape?
Double sided duct tape is an industrial-grade adhesive tape made from woven fabric fibers. It is evenly coated on both sides with high-strength adhesive and is equipped with a removable protective layer (release liner).
Thanks to the flexibility and good adhesion provided by the woven fabric structure, it can firmly adhere to uneven or rough surfaces such as carpets, plywood, and walls. It performs stably and reliably in various construction and temporary fixation applications.
Composition of Double-Sided Duct Tape
From a structural point of view, the main constituents of double-sided duct tape are its base material, adhesive, and liner. It is the combination of these three main constituents that affects the strength and usage experience of the tape.
Base Material (Backing)
The base material of duct tape provides the support for the tape. The backing determines the overall tensile strength and flexibility of duct tape. In general, double sided duct tape is made up of polyethylene laminated gauze or polyester fiber cloth. This is because the base material has to be strong and flexible to be used in actual construction work. Irrespective of its position, whether horizontal or vertical, the duct tape can be torn by hand.
Adhesive
The adhesive determines the actual adhesion performance of the tape. Double-sided duct tape will apply pressure-sensitive adhesive on both the front and back sides of the base material.
Common types include hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive and acrylic adhesive. Different adhesive systems have different focuses in terms of initial adhesion force, retention, and temperature resistance. Usually, they need to be matched according to your specific application.
Release Liner
Since both sides of the tape are sticky, without an isolation layer, it cannot be properly wound and used. Therefore, a release liner is applied to one side for protection.
When using it, simply peel off the release layer to expose the other side of the adhesive for bonding, which is also a common usage method of double-sided tape.
How to Choose the Right Double Sided Duct Tape?
In the actual application, the selection of double-sided duct tape is not about “the stronger the adhesive, the better.” Rather, it is a balance between the adhesive, the construction, and the price according to your specific application situation. In general, the following key factors can be used as a basis for judgment:
Step 1: Determine the Adhesive Type
The first step is to clarify the usage period and environmental requirements. For short-term fixation or temporary applications, hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesives can be used, as the adhesion is strong, the handling is convenient, and the price is relatively reasonable.
However, for long-term fixation or applications with high requirements for temperature resistance and aging resistance, it is recommended to choose a more stable adhesive, such as the rubber type, to ensure the adhesion stability over a long period of time.
Step 2: Select the Appropriate Backing Material
The backing material plays a critical role in the overall strength and suitability of the tape. Standard woven fabric backing can be appropriate for conditions like laying carpets and general sticking.
For conditions requiring higher strength and exposure to outdoor conditions, the polyester fiber backing material is more appropriate to enhance the overall strength of the tape.
Step 3: Determine the Appropriate Thickness
The thickness of the double-sided tape is also related to the surface suitability. The rougher the surface to be bonded, the higher the requirement for the filling capacity of the double-sided tape. In this case, the thickness of the double-sided duct tape should be higher. Generally, the thickness of the double-sided duct tape varies between 0.2 mm and 0.4 mm.
Step 4: Match the Appropriate Specification Size
The width and length of the tape should be determined according to the actual construction area and usage method. In terms of large-area fixation, using a wide specification can increase the construction efficiency and stability of the adhesive.
The width can be within the range of 12-100 mm, and the length can be within the range of 10-50 m according to your needs.
